Island Batik Ambassador 2025 - January

Well I told you all that I have big news of things coming in 2025, and now it is January and I can finally share you the first of a few new things for me this year! I am HONORED to have been selected as a 2025 Island Batik Ambassador. This program will allow me showcase my quilting creativity (both piecing and longarming) while at the same time stretch my skills into the bag making, creating sutffed animals, and other fun projects.

Island Batik generously share with us the fabric for projects created monthly, while our partners provide patterns and tools for our use (full list of partners listed below).

I will be sharing my monthly creations with each of you via this blog, and social media (Facebook, Instagram, Pintrest, Youtube and Tik Tok) during 2025. If you would like to follow me to see what I create this year, I will share the links below for each of those.

I want to share with you the items that just arrived so you can get a peek at some of the fabrics and items we will be using (This is just box 1 !!!!. There is more to come!)

Thank you to all of our sponsors!

These are in no particular order.

What could this be? They included a "surprise" that will be shared in May. Until that time I can not share so stay tuned!

Surprise!!

Stash Builders - 5inch x Width of Fabric cuts. These are great for building that stash, auditioning fabric options, and I love them for use in my applique projects that require small "pieces" of fabric.

One of our partners is Oliso Irons. They were very generous in sharing the M3Pro mini iron and carrying bag. This is available in multiple colors and can be found https://oliso.com/products/m3pro-project-iron-coral

Island Batik has entire lines of gradiations. I love the brightness of the yellows and purples they shared! They have so many options that can be found https://islandbatik.com/product-category/precuts/

What a fun and "beachy" them of fabrics! This line called Just Dandy is so bright and cherry. I know this is found in the "Fall" collections, but it makes me think of the beach. Does that mean I should visit the beach in the fall too? The entire line can be found https://islandbatik.com/product-category/fall-24/just-dandy/

The "Foundations" are properly named! As someone that loves to use batiks, these seem to be the foundation of my stash and great for so many different things. I have used them as my focus fabric, accent fabric, and even background fabric in so many projects. All of their "foundations" can be found https://islandbatik.com/product-category/foundations/

Poetic Bouquet is a great collection of blues and purples. Don't they just work together so nicely! The entire line can be found https://islandbatik.com/product-category/spring-24/poetic-bouquet/

Who doesn't love yardage! A generous 6 yard cut of a neutral. The entire line or neutrals can be found https://islandbatik.com/product-category/foundations/neutrals/

Aurifil thread has graciously shared thread for our work. Look at how well those colors match the fabrics! I am looking forward to using these in my projects. When we spend so much time creating our projects, don't overlook the small things like your thread. Check out all their threads https://www.aurifil.com/

Schmetz needles are my go-to needle in all of my projects, however I am excited to try a new to me needle in the vinyl option. Stay tuned to see how I do. All of their products can be found https://www.schmetzneedles.com/
